Moral Divide

Moral Divide

2D/3D game made in Unity (4 team members)

This game was created for a Mini-Game project in my Game Design course. The game was created with 4 team member, with Unity3D game engine. One of our inspiration for the game was to incorporate 2D and 3D, and have a transition between them.

In the story, our antagonist is an assassin who goes through a series of events which puts her in a moral dilemma and her actions lead her to her downfall.

This game was very important in the sense that made us go through a mini-development cycle over one month. It made us realize the scope of game development and made us realize in the post-mortem was how over scoped our plan was, and in the end, we were not totally satisfied with what we made.moraldivide4

The 2D levels had platforming and combat where our protagonist could shoot.

The 3D levels involved solving a puzzle and collecting items, which could then be combined in the inventory to make certain useful items.

Some of the problems we had with our implementation was overdoing the particle effects in our 3D level which made the frame rate miserable.

Our 2D levels performed better but some of the animations were not implemented properly, the loop conditions were not properly done and some of the platforming physics was very buggy.

So overall it provided some very important lessons, what to do and not to do in a game development cycle.
